Two Wells Internet Service
Anti-SPAM System
We have installed an anti-SPAM tool which will enable users to have input into the types of SPAM they wish to block. The system in place learns your email habits from the email you receive and the SPAM messages that you report to the SPAM engine.
If you receive an un-solicited email (SPAM) and wish it to be added to the learning process for your mailbox, all you need to do is forward the email to spam-username@twpo.com.au,
eg: if your username is billy, send the received SPAM email to spam-billy@twpo.com.au .
This will report the unwanted email to the system and hopefully any similar emails arriving in your mailbox will be automatically moved aside (quarantined) in the the future. These SPAM emails will be quarantined and can be viewed, deleted, or forwarded back into your mailbox (if they are NOT SPAM) via http://www.twpo.com.au/cgi-bin/dspam.cgi
Important points
- If you don't send spam messages to the system your spam filtering will be minimal
- It will take between 30 and 50 SPAM emails to be sent to the spam engine before a noticable difference in SPAM email arrival. This is unavoidable since the system needs to learn your email habits.
- You do not have to participate in the SPAM filtering, some users do like to receive SPAM
- You can be very selective in the SPAM emails you feed back into the System, i.e. you may want to receive SPAM from some sources, just do not send the SPAM emails into the system.
- You will still need to download the emails to your PC prior to feeding the SPAM back into the system, check out http://webmail.twpo.com.au and forward the emails from here. Using the webmail interface will enable you to examine your emails PRIOR to downloading to your PC.
